A tailored solution for every project

Equipped with 6 hydraulic stabiliser legs and numerous high-performance outrigger pads, our tracked machines with cranes provide maximum support and lowest ground loadings for the toughest and most complex lifting operations.

The rubber tracks and hydrostatic drive not only provide greater stability than other types of lifting equipment, but they also allow for a low ground pressure ratio, reduced ground compaction and excellent traction.

Ideal for use in soft ground conditions and steep inclines, our tracked vehicles with mounted HIABS will ensure minimal damage to existing infrastructure whilst providing turn-on-the-spot manoeuvrability.

Tracked machines can access a variety of locations not accessible by conventional lorry loaders/HIABs, such as wind farms, off-road antenna sites and solar farms. They can be used for loading and unloading a wide range of cargo too.

Frequently Asked Questions

As their name suggests, tracked machines (also known as spiders) are self-propelled vehicles that move along tracks.

Unlike wheeled equipment, the larger surface area of the tracks distributes the weight of the vehicle better than tyres – allowing the vehicle to move across the ground without sinking.

Featuring aggressive treads, the tracks on these vehicles offer excellent traction, particularly in softer ground conditions. However, they can damage paved surfaces.

Tracked machines are lightweight and narrow. They offer increased mobility, allowing you to reach tighter areas with ease.

Thanks to their tracks, they offer fantastic traction and stability. They are typically used on sloped areas where the ground is soft and wet.

Add to this a HIAB crane’s ability to lift large loads at height, and these specialist machines are an excellent choice for the toughest and most complex lifting operations.

A tracked machine with a mounted crane facilitates rapid set-up and manoeuvrability, allowing tasks to be completed in less time without sacrificing quality, safety, or efficiency.

The price you’ll pay to hire one of our tracked machines with a crane will vary depending on several factors – including the type of tracked machine and HIAB you need, their unique specifications, the extent of your project, and how long you need to rent specialist equipment for.

As with most things, the larger the vehicle and the more advanced features it offers, the more you can expect to pay. Similarly, complex lifts will require more specialist equipment for longer periods, and this also adds to the overall price of tracked machine hire.

For a clear idea of how much it will cost you to hire a tracked machine with a mounted crane, get in touch with the team at JB Rawcliffe. We can discuss your requirements in detail, identify the most suitable crane for your needs, and provide a fair quote.

Here at JB Rawcliffe & Sons, we pride ourselves on offering a wide range of systems to assist with lifting operations and transporting abnormal loads safely.

We can assure you that, as with all of our vehicles, our tracked machines with cranes mounted are safe to use.

The enhanced stability they offer is crucial when working on unstable ground and steep slopes, especially in wet conditions.

On top of this, they are easy to manoeuvre in restricted areas, and turn within their own footprint or radius. They can also swing in a circle without rocking forwards or backwards.
